  I am born and bread in the New York area which is known for its Italian food. This place could compete with any New York trattoria.
  
  We had two delicious appetizers, the cheese and prosciutto plate (pictured) and the meatball appetizer with polenta and parmigiano. The prosciutto app had a fantastic fig jelly which worked perfectly with the fresh bread and cheese.
  
  The pizzas were very good considering the area is not known for Italian.
  
  The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was great. We ate at the bar and got amazing service. The place is clean and the decor is very pleasant.
  
  Next time in pawleys we will be back.

  Gios is my favorite restaurant on the grand strand. Every meal I've had there has been fantastic. Fresh fish, delicious pizza, great service and nice atmosphere. I highly recommend Gios!
